Visual feedback tool for live web pages

Artefact is a visual feedback tool for HTML pages and web designs. Instead of marking up a screenshot, your reviewers comment on the real, working page. They drop pins, leave sticky notes and highlight text right on the render, and every comment comes straight back to you.

A visual feedback tool lets reviewers comment directly on the live page — Artefact does this with pins, sticky notes, and highlights on your rendered HTML.

Feedback on the real thing

A screenshot freezes one moment in time. A live page has hover states, scrolling, working forms and a layout that shifts across screen sizes. Artefact renders your file in a sandboxed iframe, so guests review exactly what a visitor would see and pin each comment to the spot they mean.

Three ways guests can comment

  • Pins. Click anywhere to drop a numbered pin and write a note.
  • Sticky notes. Park a longer thought on the page where it belongs.
  • Highlights. Select text or an element to flag it directly.

Made for review rounds

Set a password so only the people you invite can see the work. Guests don't need an account. When a round is done, rotate the password for the next reviewer or revoke the link entirely. Old links stop working the moment you want them to.

Where it earns its keep

Design reviews with a client. Copy and content checks before launch. QA on a fresh build across different devices. Any time a list of changes in a separate doc would lose the thread, point at the page instead.

Frequently asked questions

What is a visual feedback tool?+

A visual feedback tool lets reviewers leave comments directly on a web page or design instead of writing them up in a separate document. Reviewers point at the exact element they mean, so nothing gets lost in translation.

Do reviewers need an account to comment?+

No. Guests open your link, enter the password and start commenting.

Can I collect feedback on a live website?+

Artefact works on HTML you upload. Save or export the page as a file, upload it, then share the rendered version for comment.

How do I know when feedback comes in?+

You are notified as comments arrive, so you can reply or start fixing straight away.
